The Hoofields And McCoys

Once again I start another stream of conscience review. I didn’t get spoiled on this one so I’m going in pretty much blind, which is good for this type of review. The only thing I THOUGHT  I knew was that my DA friend and awesome artist, saturdaymorningproj.deviantart… , didn’t think too highly of it (judging by his journal title). However, it was a ruse I found out after finishing this. I think he actually liked it more than I did but my overall thoughts will be revealed in time. So here we go:

*We start with my favorite Mane 6, Fluttershy and her animal friends in some sort of book club.

*”Hurray!” Ain’t she just the cutest thing!  

*Angel: Fluttershy, you left your blinker on.

*Screw that, let’s do this without her.

*Actually, excited Twilight is a close second when it comes to being the cutest thing.

*That picture also gives me this:

: Look at my butt!

: Put that thing away Twilight.

*Ok, Twilight is taking the adorable crown here. Her OCD and excitement are just cute overload.





*Smoking Mountain high, There the go (sung to the tune of Rocky Mountain High). Wait a minute, Smoking Mountain… high? I don’t condone its usage, but it’s pretty funny.

*Oh, Smoky Mountains. Eh, still works.

*Fluttershy doesn’t need the books, it’s not fair she should have to carry them like that. Just because you out adorabled her doesn’t give you the right to give her a sore back. Some Princess Of Friendship.

*Or some friend who doesn’t notice another friend struggling and hurting from carrying her crap?

*Took you long enough Twilight.

*Pumpkins? Not exactly conventional warfare.

*Ah, redneck family fueds! Prejudice and stereotypes are fun when directed at Southerners.

*Ok Flutters, you got your crown back.

*Adorable perspective is adorable!

*No more pumpkins! We eat pumpkins, we sit on pumpkins, we burn pumpkins, we feed the cat on pumpkins… WE EVER WEAR THE BLOODY THINGS!

*I already see how they will come together. Hoofields are good at farming but suck building while the McColts are good at building and suck at farming. However, the smartest pony in Equestria will not get that until later.

*I must admit Twilight, I had my doubts about your ability to handle the situation. However, this went better than I could have imagined.

*So a bunch of animals with a lifespan of 20 years tops knows what started a feud many generations ago?

*Um, not to interrupt you Flutters, but I see something that looks more like attempted murder than a food fight:

*Poor Flutters, again Twilight ignores her pain. Not exactly a nice way to end the episode.

Well, it wasn’t too bad. Not the best episode (probably one of the weakest of the season for me), but it wasn’t “I want  22 minutes of my life back”.  Because of it being a weak episode, I don’t feel my review is going to be that good but I think I had some funny observations and pop culture references to go with it. Also, my prediction of how they would come together was pretty spot on which is always a nice thing.
